and steelhead habitat in northwest Oregon. Removal also enhances water flows along about 15 miles of existing habitat.
Hatchery fish will also be stocked downstream from the Marmot Dam site, leaving the wild fish spawning grounds above the site.
All of these changes and the developments that follow are being monitored by the Endangered Species Act Monitoring and Implementation Team, Fall Chinook Salmon Conservation Program and Cooperative Aquatic Monitoring and Research Program.
By these and other efforts PGE hopes that the native fish populations will once again fill the rivers of the Sandy River Basin. |
