Over the last century, Marmot Dam helped a young Oregon grow and develop. Now it's nature's turn.

Removal of Marmot Dam will benefit the Sandy River, the fish and wildlife that rely on it and a public that has been drawn to its natural beauty for generations.

For the first time in nearly 100 years, the river is flowing unimpeded from the glaciers on Mt. Hood to the Columbia River and onward to the Pacific Ocean.

The improved habitat will encourage once thriving fish runs of steelhead and salmon to return, while also benefiting streamside flora and fauna.
